Electrical engineers design, develop, test, and supervise electrical control systems, machinery and equipment. They may work with a variety of electrical equipment including electric motors, communications systems, lighting and wiring in buildings, radar and navigation systems, power generation, transmission, distribution and control devices used by electric utilities etc.
Essential Skills and Qualities
Essential skills for a career in Electrical Engineering include excellent understanding of math, computers and science , the ability to produce and interpret accurate drawings, must be detail oriented, strong decision-making and problem solving skills, excellent organization & communication skills, the ability to manage a budget (important skill for an electrical engineer), excellent team working and people skills, a good understanding of electrical health and safety regulations (important for an electrical engineer).
