Nature of Work
Dancers express feelings and act out stories through the movement of their bodies and facial expression. Some dancers specialise in classical art forms like Bharatanatyam, Oddissi, Kathak, etc. while others perform in musical shows or do ballet, tap, folk, ethnic, modern jazz, ballroom dancing or various other modern dance forms. Not all dancers perform before audiences. Many dancers take to teaching and / or choreography, or dance direction for musicals, films, television or other media.
Professional dancers spend much of their time in classes, auditions, and rehearsals. Most take classes on a regular basis to keep in shape and to discipline their minds and bodies.

Dance brings together the best of the athletic and artistic world, both of which require consistent learning and growth in order for the individual to stay relevant and find success. Training in dance should start as early as age eight or less. The basic requirement for a degree in dance is 10+2. For post graduate level courses, graduation in the subject is compulsory.
